Projects which involve the discharge of dredged or
fill material into this type of area come within the jurisdiction
of the Corps of Engineers. Activities which could be regulated
include filling, grading, land clearing, excavation and draining.
411 Regarding the proposed development we have the following
comments. We recommend that the wetland boundaries be accurately
delineated using a method and wetland definition consistent with
the Minnesota Wetland Conservation Act, the MDNR and the Corps.
Once the wetlands have been delineated, a project should be
designed which avoids encroachment into the wetlands. The storm
water ponding shown on the plan should be located in upland
areas.
If the project cannot totally avoid encroachment into the
wetland, the applicant should contact our office for a
determination as to whether a Corps permit will be required.
If you have any questions, contact Tim Fell in our St. Paul
office at (612) 290-5360. In any correspondence or inquiries,
please refer to the file number shown above.
Sincerely,
-ter
---( )_ r--- 4/^
Michael Weburg
C ief, Western Permits Section
Copy furnished to: MDNR
•
Printed on®Recycled Paver
