MOUNDS VIEW PLANNING COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION NO. 24-81 <br />® CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL REGARDING PLANNING CASE 73-81 <br />(REZONING FROM R-1 TO R-3) <br />WHEREAS, the comprehensive plan states that; "the predominant <br />land use within District 6 is single family" and "in keeping with <br />the existing character of the neighborhood, it is recommended that <br />the majority of the remaining undeveloped land is District 6 be <br />developed as single family homes"; and <br />WHEREAS, a substantial portion of the property proposed for <br />rezoning is abutted by single family homes; and <br />WHEREAS, the property has present access limitations except <br />from U.S. Highway 10 so as to make a divided zoning impractical; and <br />WHEREAS, access from U.S. Highway 10 is undesirable from the <br />standpoint of safety and the orderly flow of traffic on the thorough- <br />fare; and <br />• WHEREAS, placement of a multiple dwelling unit versus a single <br />dwelling unit along U.S. Highway 10 would expose more people to traffic <br />and in effect use them to absorb negative impact; and <br />WHEREAS, an overwhelming majority of the immediate neighbors <br />petitioned for single family use over other uses for this property; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View Planning <br />Commission recommends that the requested rezoning be denied. <br />ATTEST: <br />(SEAL) <br />0 <br />Adopted this 6th day of May, 1981. <br />
