MOUNDS VIEW PLANNING COMMISSION <br />• RESOLUTION NO. 62-82 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE AMENDING OF CHAPTER 40 OF THE <br />MOUNDS VIEW MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING HOME OCCUPATIONS <br />WHEREAS, both the City Attorney and City Council have <br />recommended that the Planning Commission review the City's present <br />Home Occupation section of the Zoning Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission sees the need to provide <br />residents with the opportunity to have occupations in the home; and <br />WHEREAS, numerous citizens are presently engaged in Home <br />Occupations; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommends the City regulate <br />Home Occupations so as to maintain the residential character of <br />neighborhoods and avoid incompatibility of uses; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the Home Occupa- <br />tion sections of the codes of various other communities; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View Planning <br />Commission recommends the amending of Chapter 40 of the Mounds View <br />Municipal Code by the following language: <br />(1) Chapter 40.02 Rules and Definitions. <br />Subd. B(50) Home Occupation. Any occupation which is <br />clearly secondary to the main use of the premises as a <br />dwelling and does not change the character thereof. <br />(40.10, Subd. C(3)) <br />(2) Chapter 40.10 R-1, Single Family Residential District. <br />Subd. C The following are permitted accessory uses in <br />an R-1 District: <br />(3) Home Occupations. The regulation of home occupa- <br />tions within residential structures is intented <br />to insure that the occupational use is clearly <br />accessory or secondary to the principal dwelling <br />use and that compatability with surrounding resi- <br />dential uses is maintained. No home occupation <br />shall be allowed which: <br />10 (a) Involves employees other than persons residing <br />on the premises; <br />
