Planning Commission Resolution 510-9711111
June 4, 1997
Page 2
WHEREAS, the variance requested is the minimum variance which would alleviate the
hardship in that the distance to the north property line from the center of the building is 34 feet
resulting in a 16-foot deficiency in the 50-foot minimum lot width requirement; and,
WHEREAS, the variance would not be materially detrimental to the purpose of this Title
or to other property in the same zone in that subdividing the lot would better enable owner-
occupancy of the dwellings and promote a sense of pride, improve appearances and strengthen the
neighborhood; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed variance will not impair an adequate supply of light and air to
adjacent property or substantially increase the congestion of the public streets or increase the
danger of fire or endanger the public safety or substantially diminish or impair property values
within the neighborhood in that granting of this variance will not result in any change to the
existing structure or present traffic conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View Planning Commission
acting as the Board of Adjustment and Appeals approves the variance request of Glenn Karlen to
allow a reduction in the minimum lot width requirement for proposed Parcel B (7730 Silver Lake
Road) from 50 feet to 34 feet to accommodate a zero lot line subdivision of the property located •
at 7720 - 7730 Silver Lake Road.
Adopted this 4th day of June, 1997
Jerry Peterson, Chairman
ATTEST
Pamela Sheldon,
Community Development Director
(SEAL)
N:\DATA\USERS\PAMS\SHARE\DEVCASES\485-97\KARLEN.RES
•
