Transportation <br /> The City of Mounds View' s transportation system is comprised of <br /> mass transit and a system of highways and streets. <br /> Mass transit to the downtown ar_e•as of Minneapolis and Saint Paul <br /> is provided by express bus service operated by the Metropolitan <br /> Transit Commission ( MTC) . The MTC and the Regional Transit Board <br /> ( RTB ) are constantly reevaluating public transportation services <br /> in order to provide a level of service adequate to meet demand . <br /> The roadway system in the City is comprised of principal <br /> arterial , minor arterial , collector and local streets . <br /> Interstate 35W and Trunk Highway 10 are classified as principal <br /> arterials providing regional access for. high volumes of traffic . <br /> Minor arterials are County Road I and Silver Lake Road which are <br /> designed to carry traffic from activity centers in one part of <br /> the City to another . Collector streets are County Roads H , H-2 <br /> and T,ong Lake Road and Red Oak Drive . These streets serve the <br /> function of bringing traffic from the local streets to the <br /> arterials . <br /> 5-1 <br />
