• Motion Carried
E. Discussion Regarding Mounds View business interviews of the North Metro
Business Retention and Development Commission Program.
Coordinator Bennett reported all of the businesses will be surveyed and interviewed
as part of North Metro Business Retention and Development Commission to collectively
evaluate the needs and future growth of businesses in the North Metro area. Bennett has
participated in a select few interviews and was not very satisfied with the professionalism
of the interview procedure. Commissioner Malone, who was interviewed for the program,
was dissatisfied with the lack of knowledge of the interviewer and the leading questions
that were made. Commissioner Malone suggested that all interviews be put on hold and a
meeting between staff and the Directors of the program be set to discuss the interview
procedure. Commissioner Malone requested a list of businesses that completed the
interviews process and those businesses that have yet to be interviewed to be provided at
the next meeting for discussion.
Chairman Welsch made a motion, Vice Chair Schmidt seconded, directing staff to
set a meeting with the directors of the Program to indicate that the interview process may
be causing problems in the business community and an acceptable strategy be immediately
developed.
7 ayes° nays
Motion Carried
• 5.
