LPro ram S <br /> Job g <br /> (JLP) <br /> "...to increase the quality and quantity of job opportunities for city residents <br /> generated through City-assisted economic development activities." <br /> Who's Eligible: Minneapolis residents Current Budget: $50,000 <br /> Application Procedure: Contact your Estimated Annual Production: <br /> local NET (Neighborhood Employment 50 -80 job placements <br /> Network) office. • <br /> Contact Person: Avis Poupart, 673-2259,Minneapolis Employment and Training <br /> Program Summary: MCDA will work with City businesses at an early stage in their <br /> relocation, expansion, and/or financing process to determine employment projections. <br /> NET agencies will then receive funding through the JLP when NET clients are placed at <br /> participating businesses. <br /> A second component of the JLP is "Customized Training"which will link companies <br /> that need skilled workers with City residents who want to learn new skills and move on <br /> to jobs with built-in career ladders. Through customized training,residents are hired <br /> by local companies at an entry level and take on new responsibilities as they are trained <br /> for more highly-skilled duties. <br /> -42 - <br />
