Call to Order: <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. by Chairperson, Phil Seipp. <br /> 2. Roll Call: <br /> Members present were as follows: Mark Malone, Peg Mountin, Dan Nelson, Ron Schmidt, and Phil <br /> Seipp. In addition, Economic Development Coordinator Cathy Bennett was present. EDC Members <br /> Rosemary Goff and Delane Welsch and EDA Liaison Sue Hankner were absent. <br /> 3. Approval Of Minutes: <br /> Motion/Second: Mountin/Nelson moved approval of Minutes of June 22, 1995 Meeting. <br /> 4 ayes 0 nays <br /> 111Motion Carried <br /> 4. Special Business <br /> Presentation of Mounds View Marketing Program by Marketing Task Force <br /> Marketing Task Force members Susan Fisher and Cathy Bennett gave a presentation on <br /> the Mounds View Marketing Program that was approved by Council in April 1995. The <br /> program includes recommendations for improved communications and marketing <br /> materials, marketing campaigns to increase purchasing in Mounds View and image <br /> enhancers such as new image statement, banners and monument sign. <br /> 5. EDC Business\Marketing Task Force: <br /> The remainder of the meeting was a discussion by the EDC and Marketing Task Force <br /> regarding particular aspects of the marketing program. <br /> A. Discussion of"Welcome to Mounds View Banners". <br /> Marketing Task Force Member Debbie Hammernick gave an overview of the proposal to install <br /> Banners along Highway 10 and County Road I in Mounds View. A sample of the banners and <br /> price quotes were presented. The suggestion is to order a stock design and add the City of <br /> Mounds View and the"Pride Progress and Partnerships" image statement. Members of the EDC <br /> suggested to start with 25 Banners and evaluate their effectiveness for a year. Prior to making <br /> a decision on a company and the type of banner, it was suggested to call other Cities to see if <br /> they have a problem with wear and tear and vandalism of the banners. <br /> 1 <br />
