A month <br />later, on May 12, 2003, City Council approved Resolution 6008 hiring Nicholas <br />Fleischhacker as a Sanitary Sewer Maintenance employee. <br /> <br />On May 24, 2005, Marla submitted a letter of resignation to pursue her <br />professional and personal goals by accepting a scholarship to continue her <br />education. One of the many duties Marla performed was to administer the City’s <br />Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP) and insure compliance with <br />the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency’s General Storm Water Permit. <br /> <br />On June 13, 2005 the City Council approved Resolution 6557, which authorized <br />appointment of Nicholas Fleischhacker to the vacancy in the Surface Water <br />Division of the Public Works Department and authorized Staff to advertise for <br />applications to fill the vacant position in the Sanitary Sewer Division. <br /> <br />Advertisement for applications was placed in the Star Tribune as well as the New <br />Brighton–Mounds View Bulletin. It was also placed on the Star-Tribune’s web site <br />and the City’s web site. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />The City received a total of twenty-eight (28) applications for the vacant sanitary <br />sewer position. The applications were pointed and interviews were scheduled <br />with eleven (11) applicants. <br /> <br />The interview committee consisted of the Public Works Director, the Public <br />Works Supervisor, the Public Works Administrative Assistant and Nicholas <br />Fleischhacker, who formerly occupied this position. First-round interviews were <br />held on August 3rd and 4th. The field of candidates was then narrowed to three <br />applicants. Second-round interviews, which included a tour of the Public Works
