This is a readiness <br />request, versus a deployment request. A Strike Force consists of the following: <br /> <br /> A Chief Officer <br /> Three Engine Companies with four individuals each <br /> One Ladder Company with four individuals <br /> Ambulance with a crew of two <br /> Communications/Aide <br /> <br />SBM received a request on Sunday September 4, 2005 to provide one ladder company as <br />part of one of the three teams. The actual deployment request may come as early as <br />Wednesday morning, or it may not come at all. Ladder 12 would be utilized and shipped to <br />Louisiana via flatbed truck or rail car. The deployment period for personnel is fourteen <br />days plus travel to and from the deployment site. <br /> <br />No details are available as to the type of work, which may range from firefighting to search <br />and rescue to recovery to rebuilding.
