<br />RESOLUTION NO. 6651 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br /> AUTHORIZING THE LAYOFF OF REGULAR FULL-TIME <br />GOLF COURSE EMPLOYEES AND PROVIDING SEVERANCE <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has taken action to close the municipal golf course <br />known as The Bridges of Mounds View Golf Course effective October 3, 2005; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the golf course has three full-time employees whose jobs will be <br />eliminated upon the sale and closure of the golf course; the Golf Course Manager, <br />the Clubhouse Manager/Golf Instructor, and the Grounds/Equipment Manager; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City to provide a severance package to these <br />employees that is consistent with City policy, and recognizes the efforts of the golf <br />course employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 4.15 of the City’s Personnel Policy provides that the “City <br />Administrator, with the approval of the City Council, may lay-off any employee <br />whenever such action is deemed necessary by reason of shortage of work funds, <br />the elimination of the position, changes in the organization, or other causes.” <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council <br />hereby affirms and authorizes the City Administrator to lay-off the three current <br />regular full-time golf course employees, subject to the closing and transfer of the <br />golf course property. <br /> <br />FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that the termination date of each golf course <br />employee will be established within the Notice of Layoff to account for the <br />individual employee’s flextime balance and, further, each employee shall be given <br />an additional severance payment of one week’s pay for each complete year of <br />service, and accorded all severance benefits as provided in the City’s Personnel <br />Policy and subject to the terms and conditions therein. <br /> <br /> <br />Adopted this 10th day of October 2005. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />_________________________________ <br />Rob Marty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />
