RESOLUTION 6681 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CLOSING CITY HALL ON DECEMBER 23 AND DECEMBER 30, 2005 <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 3.10 of the Mounds View Personnel Policy states that If <br />Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Independence Day or Veteran's Day falls on a <br />Saturday, the preceding Friday will be considered a Holiday. If Christmas Day, New <br />Year's Day, Independence Day, or Veteran’s Day fall on a Sunday, the following <br />Monday will be considered a holiday; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, similar language was added to the 2004-2005 union labor contracts, <br />however, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve was added to the list above; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, union employees have holidays on Friday, December 23rd and <br />Friday, December 30, 2005, and non-union employees are required to work on these <br />days; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, out of the 52 employees staffed at City Hall, only about 11 would be <br />required to work on December 23rd and December 30th; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, of those 11 non-union employees, many of the non-union <br />employees have already scheduled this time off, which will have an impact on <br />maintaining City services. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT City Hall offices be closed on <br />December 23, 2005 and December 30, 2005 due to staffing issues, which will have an <br />impact in maintaining City services. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, non-union staff would use <br />comp time, flex time or vacation to take December 23rd and December 30th off. <br /> <br />Adopted this 28th day of November, 2005. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />__________________________________ <br />Rob Marty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />__________________________________ <br />Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />(seal)
