Kennedy signed public law <br />87-726 which declared May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day to honor the Federal, <br />State, and municipal officers who die or are disabled in the line of duty; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the calendar week of each year during which May 15 occurs was <br />designated as National Police Week; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Officers of Mounds View have worked devotedly and <br />selflessly in behalf of the people of this City, regardless of the peril or hazard to <br />themselves; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these officers by their patriotic service and their dedicated efforts <br />have earned the gratitude of the City. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jerry Linke, Mayor of the City of Mounds View, do <br />hereby proclaim the week of May 9 through May 15, 2004 as NATIONAL POLICE <br />WEEK in The City of Mounds View, and I call upon all citizens and civic organizations <br />to show appreciation to the loyal law enforcement officers of the Mounds View Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />Adopted this 10th day of May, 2004 <br /> <br /> <br /> ______________________________________ <br />Jerry Linke, Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: ______________________________________ <br />Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />(seal)
