• <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> MEMO <br /> To: Mounds View Planning Commission, <br /> From: Rick Jopke, Community Development Director <br /> Subject: Billboards <br /> Date: November 3, 1999 <br /> As I previously indicated to you the City Council has asked that the staff and Planning <br /> Commission look into and make recommendations concerning ordinance amendments to the sign <br /> ordinance to allow billboards in certain areas of the community. <br /> The Planning Commission has asked for and received the City attorney's opinion on certain <br /> matters. A copy of the opinion was passed out at a previous Planning Commission meeting. The <br /> • Planning Commission should now complete its review of the proposed ordinance that was <br /> previously drafted by staff and presented to the Planning commission in July. I have attached a <br /> • copy of the previous staff report,the proposed ordinance,and the attorney's opinion for your <br /> information. A copy of the proposed ordinance has been forwarded to the City Attorney's office <br /> for review. <br /> REQUESTED ACTION: It is requested that the Planning Commission complete its discussi <br /> the attached draft ordinance and suggest any changes that maybe necess on of <br /> should also discuss what kind of public input process should be utilized.
