APPROVAL OF MINUTES 9 <br /> 10 <br />A. City Council Minutes April 26, 2004 11 <br /> 12 <br />Council Member Gunn requested the following change: The date for Festival in the Park is 13 <br />August 22, 2004. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Council Member Stigney requested the following change: On Page 7, Line 18 indicate his taxes 16 <br />went up 30%. 17 <br /> 18 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Marty. To Approve the City Council Minutes for April 26, 2004 19 <br />as Amended. 20 <br /> 21 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 22 <br /> 23 <br />11. REPORTS 24 <br /> 25 <br /> A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Council Member Marty indicated that the Festival in the Park Golf Tournament is scheduled for 28 <br />August 14, 2004. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Gunn indicated that there is someone interested in putting together a 31 <br />snowmobile show in lieu of the car show this year. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Council Member Marty indicated that a resident suggested having survey cards available at the 34 <br />Festival for residents to fill out. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Mayor Linke commented on the Governor’s talk on WCCO that suggested that cites are spending 37 <br />money frivolously on lobbying efforts by stating that the City is a member of the League of 38 <br />Minnesota Cities and a portion of the dues is used to fund lobbying efforts on behalf of cities. 39 <br />He also indicated that it would be cost prohibitive for the City to have either elected officials or 40 <br />Staff monitor events and lobby for the City. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that a resident had contacted him asking whether he could 43 <br />utilize the Community Center to showcase his band for free and he had directed him to City Staff 44 <br />and the YMCA. 45
