Church <br /> Location: 7687 Long Lake Road <br /> PIN No. 08-30-23-22-0038 <br /> Present Zoning/Land Use: R-1, Single Family Residential/Church <br /> Applicable Regulations: Section 1006.06 states that a development review is required for all <br /> residential, commercial or industrial development or redevelopment. <br /> Section 1106.04, Subd. 1 lists the CUP requirements for Churches <br /> • and other public or semi-public institutional uses. <br /> Section 1125.01 lists the general CUP and adverse affects criteria. <br /> Section 1121.13 lists the parking requirements for Churches and all <br /> other types of uses. <br /> Attachments: Planning Application <br /> Zoning Map <br /> Location Map <br /> Site Plans date-stam.ed 10/29/99 <br /> Background: <br /> The applicant, Vanman Companies, representing the property owner, Sunrise United Methodist <br /> Church, is requesting approval of a conditional use permit and development review to allow for the <br /> expansion of their Church facility located at 7687 Long Lake Road. The Church has been located <br /> at this site since 1957, having previously met in temporary space at Sunnyside Elementary in New <br /> Brighton. The Church was damaged beyond repair in 1965 after a tornado struck this area and was <br /> completely rebuilt the next year. Sunrise also provides day care services for about 45 children, a <br /> service they have been providing since 1981. <br /> • The expanded areas will serve as additional space within the sanctuary and child care areas and will <br /> provide for office space for the pastor and other church workers and add a meeting room and <br /> multi-use space for the staff and congregation. <br />
