Staff was directed to make one minor change in the Police Civil Service <br />Commission Appointments and present it to Council for a Second Reading and Adoption. <br /> <br />On the April 5, 2004 Work Session, Staff was directed to amend the Appointment and Terms of <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission, Police Civil Service Commission, Economic Development <br />Commission and the Parks and Recreation Commission in the City Code to include the City <br />Council in appointing these members. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> <br />According to Title 400, §401.02 of the City Code, the Planning and Zoning Commission shall <br />consist of seven (7) members from the resident population of Mounds View, other than personnel <br />elected to a public body, to be appointed by the Mayor with approval of the City Council, <br />from applications submitted. The appointees shall have three (3) year staggered terms; at <br />least two (2) of these terms, but not more than three (3) terms, shall expire each year on <br />December 31. Based up on the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission, <br />the Mayor, with the approval of the City Council, shall appoint a chairperson. <br /> <br />Amendment: <br /> <br /> Subd. 1. Membership; Terms: <br /> <br /> The Planning and Zoning Commission shall consist of seven (7) members from the resident <br />population of Mounds View, other than persons elected to a public body, to be appointed <br />by the City Council, and based on the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission from applications submitted. The appointees shall have three (3) year <br />staggered terms; at least two (2) of these terms, but not more than three (3) terms, shall <br />expire each year on December 31. Based upon the recommendation of the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission, and the City Council shall appoint a chairperson. <br /> <br /> <br />Police Civil Service Commission <br /> <br />According to Title 400, § 404.01 and 404.02 of the City Code, the Police Civil Service <br />Commission shall consist of three (3) members, who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the <br />approval of a majority of the Council.
