Mounds View City Council July 12, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 13 <br /> <br />claims against a city merely because the person subsequently becomes a member of the 1 <br />governing body. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether they would still require legal representation at an 4 <br />arbitration, and City Clerk/Administrator Ulrich stated that they would. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Council Member Stigney stated he felt it would be premature to do anything until the City 7 <br />received a lawsuit from the Linkes. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Marty asked if they could still arbitrate if a lawsuit was received, and City 10 <br />Clerk/Administrator Ulrich stated that they could still agree to arbitrate. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Council Member Marty asked if they could continue this issue until the next meeting when the 13 <br />City Attorney could be present. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Council Member Stigney felt it would be good if the City Administrator would discuss the matter 16 <br />with the City Attorney. 17 <br /> 18 <br />MOTION/SECOND. Marty/Stigney. To continue the matter until the next City Council meeting 19 <br />to get the City Attorney’s opinion. 20 <br /> 21 <br />There was a discussion regarding Kennedy & Graven’s legal fees. 22 <br /> 23 <br /> Ayes-3 ` Nays-0 Motion carried. 24 <br /> 25 <br />13.
