Mounds View City Council June 14, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 10 <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND. Gunn/Stigney. To approve the second reading and adopt Ordinance 737, 1 <br />an Ordinance to amend Chapter 603, amended to say restricted to Wednesdays and Thursdays. 2 <br /> 3 <br />MOTION/SECOND. Linke/Marty. To postpone the vote until the public has had a chance to 4 <br />speak. 5 <br /> 6 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Cheryl Bornhorst, Sunnyside Drive, stated she was sensitive to the noise of the garbage trucks 9 <br />and gets woke up by them. She stated she was happiest with Larry’s being her hauler, and 10 <br />supported the adoption of Wednesdays and Thursdays for pickups. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Theresa Lexon spoke in support of Larry’s and the Wednesday/Thursday pickup schedule. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Gerald Klute, 7869 Greenwood Drive, stated there was no problem with the way the pickup is 15 <br />handled at the present time. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Ed Trettel, 7401 Parkview Drive, read a letter he had submitted to the Council stating his 18 <br />position that he didn’t believe any change was needed. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Dennis Hammes, 5511 Quincy, stated he didn’t want a one-day only pickup in the city because it 21 <br />would eliminate competition. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Paul Hanzelka, 8470 Eastwood Road, stated he was in agreement with what others have said and 24 <br />agrees with the two days of garbage pickup. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Don Rossbach, 2297 Lois Drive, stated he agreed with the Wednesday and Thursday pickup. 27 <br /> 28 <br />William Werner, 2765 Sherwood Road, stated he hoped the Council would do the right thing in 29 <br />the spirit of community. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Ryan Markfelt, Adan Avenue, stated he would like to keep Larry as his hauler and have 32 <br />Wednesday and Thursday pickup. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Sharon Kirscher, 8406 Red Oak Drive, stated Larry backs up her 250 foot driveway to pick up 35 <br />her trash and it would be a hardship to lose him as her hauler. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Rick Wyatt, 7515 Knollwood, stated Larry’s trucks are far quieter than the others and suggested 38 <br />having the pickup time begin later in the morning. He stated he didn’t think anything else needed 39 <br />to be changed. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Steven Merk, 5065 Sunnyside Road, stated he was for one day pickup because he works the third 42 <br />shift and gets woke up by the garbage trucks. 43 <br /> 44
