111 ORDINANCE#03-12 <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 7, WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE LICENSING, AND <br /> PERMITS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY,MINNESOTA. <br /> An ordinance to amend Chapter 7 of the City Code, titled "Licensing and Permits" by the addition of <br /> subchapter 7.20,titled"Business Registration Certificate," <br /> SECTION 1. Amendment <br /> The following text is hereby incorporated into Chapter 7, Licensing and Permits, of the City Code. <br /> Section 7.20 Business Registration Certificate <br /> Section 7.20.01 General Provisions <br /> Subdivision 1: Purpose <br /> The purpose of this Section is for the City to obtain and maintain current information on all businesses <br /> 411111 as defined herein located in the City in order to inform appropriate City departments of the current <br /> occupancy and occupancy changes within buildings, permit the City to update and review records <br /> regarding emergency contact lists, fire preplan, inspection, and hazardous materials, permit the City to <br /> ensure that any business intending to operate within the City shall comply with the State Building Code, <br /> the State Fire Code, the City Code, and insure that the business uses conform to the building in which <br /> the business intends to operate. The information obtained will also allow the City Police Department to <br /> be notified of any hazards or security issues that may affect the community's health, safety and welfare. <br /> Subdivision 2. Definitions <br /> The following words and phrases,when used in this section, shall have the meanings set forth: <br /> Person - Includes an individual, partnership, corporation, or any body of persons, whether incorporated <br /> or formed as an association or not. <br /> Business — Any establishment, occupation, employment, or enterprise where merchandise is <br /> manufactured, exhibited or sold, or where services are offered for compensation. <br /> Zoning Administrator—The City's Community Development Department shall be deemed the Zoning <br /> Administrator. <br /> Subdivision 3. Application and Required Information <br /> Application for a Business Registration Certificate ("BRC") shall be made with the Zoning <br /> Administrator on a form furnished by the City. The application shall be filed with the Zoning <br /> Administrator 30 days prior to any Business's intended occupancy, or 30 days prior to the existing <br /> • BRC's expiration date.
