City Seeks <br /> VIEWTagline Ideas <br /> For the past year, Mounds View's Economic Development Authority (EDA) has been working to <br /> refresh Mounds View's image or brand to residents, businesses, prospective businesses and <br /> visitors. "Despite today's tough economy, our neighborhoods and businesses continue to thrive," <br /> said Clerk-Administrator Jim Ericson. "If the City displays its strong image, we will naturally create <br /> opportunities for Mounds View such as attracting new businesses and services that aren't <br /> currently available here." <br /> Risdall Marketing Group developed a brand strategy and brand promise for Mounds View. They <br /> did this with the help of 700 residents and 50 businesses who chose to respond to surveys <br /> distributed by the City last fall and winter. <br /> "Public participation in this process is important to us", said Mayor Joe Flaherty. "The public input <br /> we received so far helped shape our brand strategy and the City's new logo. We are now <br /> requesting the help of Mounds View residents, businesses and other community members to <br /> submit ideas for a new City tagline." <br /> S City of Mounds View's Brand Promise <br /> The City of Mounds View is an active community with a small town feel, <br /> committed to being family friendly, safe and fun, with planned and managed growth and development, <br /> overseen by an open government that is responsive and fiscally responsible. <br /> If you are interested in submitting new tagline ideas for the City of Mounds View, below are the <br /> criteria that the Mounds View EDA will use to select a new tagline. Mounds View's new tagline <br /> should: <br /> • Reflect the City's brand promise (it should capture the imagination, direction or essence of the <br /> City and communicate it to the residents, businesses and visitors) <br /> • Be easy to remember <br /> • Roll off the tongue (easy to say) <br /> • Emphasize a compelling benefit to consumers <br /> • Promote Mounds View's location/geographic identity <br /> • Be unique (it should differentiate Mounds View from neighboring/other cities) <br /> • Be less than ten words <br /> Tagline ideas may be submitted by September 18, 2009, to Heidi Steinmetz at Mounds View City <br /> Hall located at 2401 Hwy 10, Mounds View, MN 55112. You may also e-mail or call Heidi with <br /> your idea (s) at heidi.steinmetz a(�ci.mounds-view.mn.us or 763-717-4029. <br /> City staff will provide the EDA with all submitted tagline ideas at the October 12th EDA meeting at <br /> Mounds View City Hall. If the EDA chooses a tagline from the ideas submitted, the City Council <br /> will formerly recognize the tagline creator. <br />
