Item No: 6A <br />MOUNDS t T7� Meeting Date: Nov. ss EDC <br />�/1 Type of Business: EDC <br />Administrator Review: _ <br />City of Mounds View .Staff Report <br />To: Economic Development Commission <br />From: Heidi Steinmetz, Economic Development Specialist <br />Item Title/Subject: 2011 EDC Applications - Provide Recommendation to <br />EDA/City Council <br />Background <br />There are two terms available for the EDC that will last from 2011 to 2013. The two <br />vacancies are "resident representative" vacancies. Chapter 408 of the Mounds View City <br />Code states "The Commission shall be composed of seven equal voting members, <br />including three business representatives and four residents". The City Code also states <br />that the EDC must recommend whom the EDA/Council should appoint to the EDC. <br />Attached is Chapter 408 for the EDC's reference. <br />Discussion <br />The three people listed below (in alphabetical order) submitted applications to City staff by <br />the November 1, 2010 application deadline to be on the EDC. Attached are the three <br />completed applications for the EDC's review. <br />Name of Applicant Type of Application <br />Dan Larson resident <br />Jim Paron resident <br />Jennifer Wagner-Harkonen resident <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the EDC provide a recommendation to the EDA/City Council with a <br />listing of the applicants the EDC believes would best fill the two vacant EDC seats. Each <br />person appointed by the City Council will serve a three-year term (from 2011-2013).
