<br />Item #: 6A <br />Meeting Date: July 15, 2011 <br />Type of Business: EDC <br />Administrator Review: ____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To: Economic Development Commission <br />From: Heidi Steinmetz, Economic Development Specialist <br />Item Title/Subject: Review Draft EDC Resolution Regarding the Development of <br />the Proposed Minnesota Vikings Multi-Purpose Facility on the <br />TCAAP Site in Arden Hills <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />At the May 15th EDC meeting, the EDC held a lengthy discussion regarding the possibility <br />of creating an EDC resolution addressing the development of the proposed Minnesota <br />Vikings multi-purpose facility on the TCAAP Site in Arden Hills. The EDC asked City staff <br />to draft a resolution for consideration at the next EDC meeting stating that the EDC wants <br />to remain notified and involved in the City of Mounds View’s discussions about the <br />development of the proposed stadium on TCAAP site. Attached is the draft resolution. <br /> <br />At the June 6th City Council Work Session, the Council discussed the proposed stadium for <br />the Arden Hills site. EDC members Dan Larson, Gary Meehlhause and Jim Paron attended <br />the Work Session and provided input to the City Council. <br /> <br />On June 14th, Mayor Joe Flaherty sent the attached letter to the Ramsey County Board of <br />Commissioners. The letter provides feedback, addresses concerns and asks questions <br />about the stadium proposal for the Arden Hills site. <br /> <br />On Thursday, August 4th, the City of Arden Hills will be hosting a “Stadium Proposal Open <br />House” from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Ramsey County Public Works Facility. Attached is <br />the notice posted on the Arden Hills’s Website. <br /> <br />Finally, attached is a summary of the City of Arden Hill’s discussions about the stadium <br />proposal. This summary, in addition to numerous handouts, are available for download on <br />the City of Arden Hills’s Website, located at www.ci.arden-hills.mn.us. <br /> <br />Discussion/Recommendation <br /> <br />City staff recommends that the EDC review the attached draft EDC resolution regarding the <br />proposed development of a Vikings Stadium at the TCAAP site in Arden Hills. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
