City Hall: 763−717−4000 City Website: www.ci.mounds‐view.mn.us
April 2012
Volume 2, Issue 4
Mounds View’s Business-to-Business Electronic Newsletter
For forty years, the Minnesota Institute of Public Health
has been dedicated to improving community health.
Their mission remains the same as their name changes
to Invitation Health Institute. They will continue to
provide the innovative, meaningful solutions that have
made them a leader in building a bridge between public
health research and practice.

You will begin to see this new name on their website
and materials, but know that their organization will
continue to provide the same exceptional programs,
staff, and resources that have served you in the past.
You can expect the same service and relationships you
have come to know and trust, and there is nothing you
need to do around this change.

As Invitation Health Institute, they will retain their 501(c)
(3) nonprofit status. As they move forward, they will be
working with experts at their affiliate company, Invitation
Health and Wellness, to offer you additional expertise
and experience, particularly in the areas of tobacco
cessation and obesity prevention. Together, they are
excited to bring you the opportunity to promote a healthy
life to individuals in every community.

If you have questions, please feel free to call Executive
Director Jerry Jaker, Invitation Health Institute, at
763-712-7614 or 1-800-782-1878 ext. 143.
Businesses: Are You Ready for June 20—24?
Almost 12,000 people will be registering at The Mermaid in Mounds View beginning at
3pm on Wednesday, June 20, 2012! They will be registering for the Minnesota Street
Rod Association’s (MSRA) 39th Annual “Back to the 50s Weekend” to be held at the
State Fairgrounds on June 22−24, 2012. Due to this major influx of visitors to Mounds
View, businesses are encouraged to offer special deals or discounts to be provided in
a coupon book to registrants. Please contact Heidi Steinmetz at
763-717-4029 if you are interested in offering a coupon.

The City of Mounds View is proud that The Mermaid was chosen as the “Back to the
50s” registration headquarters for 2012. City officials are certain that Mounds View
residents and businesses will provide “Back to the 50s” participants with a very warm
welcome.
Announcement of Name Change
Water Main Flushing, April 23−27
The City of Mounds View Public Works Department will be
flushing water mains the week of April 23−27, 2012. Water
mains in the business parks are scheduled to be flushed on
April 24−26. During this period of flushing, you may
experience low water pressure or discoloration of water. This
will be temporary and your normal water service will resume as
soon as possible. If you have questions, please call Public
Works at 763-717-4050, Mon−Fri, between 7:00am−3:30pm.
Weekly Crime Summaries
Officer Kasey Keckeisen’s Weekly Crime
Summaries are posted on the Police
Department’s page of the City’s Website at
www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us. Most recently,
thieves have stolen copper and metal from
various business locations within Mounds
View. If you notice suspicious activity, please
call 9-1-1 immediately.
