19 <br />Premium Stop Redevelopment Area Study <br />City of Mounds View <br />Residential Buildings <br />The new residential buildings on the Premium Stop <br />Redevelopment Area site should be designed to <br />communicate a high quality living experience for all <br />income levels and be consistent in character with <br />single family uses. The design should include visual <br />interest throughout, with special attention paid to <br />street and sidewalk frontages. Design elements of <br />the buildings should include: <br />• Well defined entrances with creative use of <br />colorful materials and texture. <br />• Unique detailing that reinforces the character <br />and image of adjacent neighborhoods. <br />• Buildings should utilize compatible high <br />quality materials and design that relates to <br />and reinforces the character of adjacent <br />neighborhoods. These materials should include <br />stone, brick, decorative masonry units, and a <br />variety of ornamental metals. <br />• Setbacks for the residential buildings should <br />be 15’ to 20’ minimum from public sidewalk. <br />Building heights should be no more than two <br />stories.
