Reports of Staff
January 16, 2015

The preliminary plans were designed from a traffic management perspective. However,
the businesses believe that the street closures will cause them harm and inconvenience
to other businesses that use Clifton Drive to access 35W. City Administrator, Jim
Ericson has contacted the county and is expecting a response that would provide an
alternative to the street closures. Mounds View has been a strong supporter of the
TCAAP redevelopment over the years.

More information can be found at http://www.sehinc.com/online/35W96. The TCAAP
website is: http://tcaap.net/, or http://ricecreekcommons.com/

E. Mounds View Project Updates

Biolife. Construction of the new Biolife facility is expect ed to open July 2015. This
building will be about a $6 million investment. Commissioner Rieland will provide a
verbal update at the meeting.

Snap Market (formerly Sam’s). Located at 2410 County Rd I & Edgewood Drive. They
are open for business and working with the building owner to install a new sign and
garbage service.

Bel Rae Senior Residential Facility (Coventry). Ebenezer, the management company,
has leased temporary space at the Mounds View Community Center for a leasing sales
office until the new building is ready. An update will be provided by a representative
from Ebenezer at the February 20, 2015 ECD meeting. The expected completion date is
Mid-April 2015.

F. Snyder Building

Staff is in regular contact with the realtor offering ideas and leads. The main issue is the
price and lack of parking. The asking price is $2.5 mill and the lease is over $14 p/sq. ft.
Many businesses like the location but can’t afford the price and/or re quire more parking
space. (Realtor’s brochure attached)

G. 17th Annual North Metro Community Home & Garden Show

The 17th Annual North Metro Home & Garden Show will be held Saturday, February 28,
2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the National Sports Center’s Sport Expo Center, in
Blaine, MN.
