Not many drivers are willing to do that, so the company increased the <br />wages and that has helped keep drivers. Because many trucking companies are not <br />able to get good drivers, several companies are shipping via trains. They ship pretty <br />much everything all over the U.S. They have about 55 FT and 10 PT employees on site <br />and plan to hire more if they can attract enough drivers. Their only concern is the <br />Mustang Drive & Old Hwy 8 intersection needs to be salted more in the winter because <br />their trucks are sliding. They give the city 8 of 10 points for service and likability. <br />Apple Tree Dental: Melissa Herbst, Center Director, provided that the company started <br />in Coon Rapids, MN about 30 years ago with four founders and is a 501c Non-profit <br />specializing in providing special needs dental care and offering payment plans for <br />anyone in need of care but without the financing to do so. They receive grants to help <br />pay for any gap in payment plans. They accept all major insurances and anyone can <br />receive care, it’s not just income based. They use the hub & spoke model where they <br />have outpatient clinics and mobile service as well as on site care at schools, assisted <br />living, nursing homes, etc. <br />Having branches in Mounds View, Holly, Madelia, Rochester, Fergus Falls, and San <br />Mateo, CA which has a large elderly population, they mainly serve the Twin Cities, and <br />do some business in St. Cloud and Cambridge. They provide a unique service in that <br />they can service a large population by going to the patients. They also have an IV <br />sedation program, overhead lifts, sliding chairs, 3D x-ray machines as well as hospital <br />dentistry at the Rochester branch. The company was modeled using the Mayo system. <br />They plan to complete the 2nd floor build out next year as long as they can secure the <br />proper funding. The industry is increasing overall due to a larger aging population <br />especially in assisted living facilities. They have 22 FT & 2 PT and plan to hire more <br />next year. They will need more parking once the 2nd floor is completed for their <br />executive offices. As the Coon Rapids staff will be moving to Mounds View. <br />C. Silver View Plaza <br />Silver View Plaza sold late spring 2015. The new owner is not known. However, on May <br />13, 2015 city staff met with the new property manager of the Silver View Plaza building <br />from Suntide Commercial Realty. According to Suntide, they are investing $15,000 into <br />new outdoor lighting. There are 7 security lights in the rear of the building and 31 <br />canopy lights in the front. They recently completed parking lot swee ping and new <br />striping. New flowerpots are on order for May 27 and they are contemplating what to do <br />with the support beams to make them more aesthetically pleasing. When asked about <br />the signage, they said it is on the radar for 2016. They are also in the process of <br />updating their fire alarm/sprinkler system with new panels.
