Other Upcoming Events/Reports
MWF Developers is looking to construct around 52 units of workforce housing on two
lots owned by Cynthia Johnson, located at 2865 Mounds View Boulevard and 7980
Groveland Road. On January 3, 2017 at a Council work session the developer and City
Council discussed the project and the possibility of using a Housing TIF as well as
Housing Tax Credits, and a discussion on allowing leniency on the three acre Planned
Urban Development (PUD) requirement. The Council seemed generally in favor of the
development but has requested that the developer come back when more of the
financial details are known surrounding the Housing TIF. Since the last report, one of
the property owners has declined to sell, thus reducing the available acres allowed for
the development. If all goes well, the developer plans to submit the tax credit application
in the spring of 2017 and if awarded both the tax credit and housing TIF, would
anticipate starting construction April 2018 and completing construction December 2019,
finishing the lease-up around June of 2019.

G.
