EDC Minutes <br />February 16, 2018 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br /> <br />Commissioner Stevenson stated that he didn’t see any reference to terms of <br />Commissioners. Beeman informed the EDC that terms of Commissioners are outlined in <br />the City Code. Hearing no further comments on the Bylaws. Chair Freichels called for a <br />motion to approve the Bylaws. <br /> <br />Motion/Second: Commissioner Breske moved and Commissioner Farmer seconded the <br />approval of the EDC Bylaws as-is. <br /> <br />Motion Carried: 6 Ayes, 0 Nays <br /> <br />7. REPORTS OF STAFF <br /> <br />Crossroad Pointe Redevelopment Project <br /> <br />Coordinator, Beeman provided the Commission with an update on the Crossroad Pointe <br />redevelopment site stating that INH Properties is continuing with their due diligence as <br />per the Predevelopment Agreement with expires in one year. The agreement is non- <br />binding for both parties but the expectation is to work toward a formal development <br />agreement before the preliminary development agreement expires. <br /> <br />Rice Creek Commons <br /> <br />Coordinator, Beeman provided the Commission with an update on the Crossroad Pointe <br />redevelopment site stating that the bids for the water well monitoring and corrections will <br />occur in 2018 while the infrastructure is expected to occur in 2019 and new housing & <br />commercial starts are expected in 2020. <br /> <br />Website <br /> <br />Beeman reported that the City’s new website was officially launched January 2 2018 and <br />staff continues to make updates and corrections but overall, the site is an improvement <br />from the old city website. <br /> <br />North Metro Business Council <br /> <br />The next North Metro Business Council meeting will be held at the Mermaid Event <br />Center March 14. A speaker has not been determined. Beeman encouraged the EDC <br />and local businesses to attend the free meeting. <br /> <br />MWF Developers <br /> <br />Beeman reminded the Commission that MWF properties is proposing a 60 unit <br />workforce housing project on the west side of town and the City is helping them acquire <br />two tax forfeiture properties where a simultaneous transaction will occur. MWF has <br />submitted a formal application to the City for a Housing TIF. The Public Hearing will be <br />held March 12 and the City Council will hold a March 5 work session to discuss the TIF <br />district prior to the Public Hearing. <br /> <br />
