Mounds View EDA May 12, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated the EDC had discussed and <br />recommended revisions to the City’s Business Subsidy Policy. He then reviewed the changes. <br /> <br />Vice President Stigney asked whether any change had been made on the minimum wage. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated that no change had been made. <br /> <br />President Linke closed the public hearing at 6:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Linke opened the City Council meeting at 6:40 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Marty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 03-EDA- <br />173, a Resolution Approving Revisions to the City’s Business Subsidy Policy. <br /> <br />Vice President Stigney indicated he felt the minimum wage should be higher than what it is and <br />tax abatement should be stricken from the document. <br /> <br />Ayes – 3 Nays – 1(Stigney) Motion carried. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Marty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6004, a <br />Resolution Approving Revisions to the City’s Business Subsidy Policy. <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that he felt the minimum wage should be higher and <br />providing tax rebate financing, a/k/a tax abatement for development within the City he is against. <br /> <br />Ayes – 3 Nays – 1(Stigney). Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Linke closed the City Council meeting at 6:42 p.m <br /> <br />7. REPORTS <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman reported that he had received a copy of a letter <br />indicating that the regional pond adjacent to the Mermaid expansion project has been completed. <br /> <br />8.
