Mounds View EDA June 9, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated that Staff had obtained bids for the soil <br />borings and provided the pricing information to the EDA. <br /> <br />Commissioner Marty arrived at 6:37 p.m. <br /> <br />Vice President Stigney asked whether the TIF funds to be used were the excess TIF Funds or the <br />Community Development Funds. <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated that the City would be utilizing dollars from the <br />EDA account funded through the TIF districts. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 03-EDA- <br />174, a Resolution Approving the Contract Award for Geotechnical Exploration for a Residential <br />Development on Lots 34 through 50 on County Road H2. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried <br /> <br />7. REPORTS <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated that Staff was asked to define a set of <br />criteria for selecting a developer. He then provided the information to the EDA and reviewed it <br />with them. He also noted that Dave Regel is no longer interested in being included in the project. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman reviewed the list of seven questions that were <br />posed to the developers and compared their answers to those questions. He then asked whether <br />the EDA felt the information was adequate and whether the EDA was prepared to choose a <br />developer or wished to obtain further information. <br /> <br />Gary Nordness representing Procraft addressed the EDA and reviewed their plans for the project. <br /> <br />Commissioner Marty indicated he liked concept plan A and asked who owned the property <br />behind the existing home in plan B. <br /> <br />The developer indicated that Mr. Vik owns that property and has expressed an interest in selling <br />it. <br /> <br />Jim Claremont of Homes by James addressed the EDA and provided a brief history on himself <br />and his company along with over viewing his plans for the project. <br /> <br />Vice President Stigney asked for Staff’s recommendation on choice of developer. <br />
