Resolution 07-EDA-232 Approving the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for <br /> the Premium Stop Redevelopment Project and to Authorize Distribution and <br /> Publication of the RFQ <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman explained that the Premium Stop location had <br />deteriorated to the point of becoming a nuisance and the EDA made steps to acquire the location. <br />He then explained that the Council authorized a market analysis and planning study to assist with <br />determining the best use for the site. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman explained that the City is considering an RFQ <br />process to consider a developer to redevelop the site. He then outlined the schedule for the RFQ <br />process. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman explained the different ways that the RFQ could <br />be advertised. <br /> <br />Commissioner Flaherty said that he likes the idea of looking at the City’s list of developers first <br />before advertising. <br /> <br />President Marty said that he is concerned about getting a few responses that the City may not <br />like and then losing the time. He then suggested doing some advertising because then the City <br />could get better response. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman suggested utilizing the email list to get the <br />information out but he is not sure of the costs for that type of advertising. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mueller said that advertising can be added to the purchase price and recovered so <br />she likes the idea of opening it up for advertising to see what may happen. <br /> <br />The EDA agreed to add a not to exceed amount of $1,200 for advertising. <br /> <br />Commissioner Flaherty said that with a list of 18 developers the City should get some interested <br />parties. He then asked to look into using webstreaming for advertisement. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Ericson said that Staff could look into the email blast listing <br />for advertising and the costs to do so. <br /> <br />The EDA and Staff amended the dates in the Resolution to June 20, 2007 and responses due by
