Mounds View EDA August 25, 2008
Regular Meeting Page 2

45
A. Consider Budget Amendment to Allow Distribution of a Foreclosure 46
Prevention Notice 47
48
Economic Development Specialist Heller reviewed the requested budget amendment to allow for 49
distribution of a foreclosure prevention postcard. 50
51
President Marty arrived at 6:36 p.m. 52
53
Commissioner Flaherty said that he disagrees with this expenditure and feels that the City has 54
done plenty to assist and offer assistance with foreclosure. 55
56
Vice President Stigney said he would like to consider a mailing with the utility bill rather than 57
the postcard. 58
59
Commissioner Mueller would like to do the postcard as, once behind on payments, homeowners 60
usually stop opening the mail and a postcard does not need to be opened. 61
62
MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Approve Amendment of the Budget to Allow 63
Distribution of a Foreclosure Prevention Notice as Recommended by Staff. 64
65
MOTION/SECOND: Stigney. To Amend to Do this as a Supplement to the Utility Bill. The 66
amendment failed for lack of a second. 67
68
Ayes – 3 Nays – 2(Flaherty/Stigney) Motion carried. 69
70
B. Resolution 08-EDA-243, a Resolution Appointing Officers of the Authority 74
75
Executive Director Ericson suggested tabling this item to the next meeting. 76
77
MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Mueller. To Postpone Items B and C to the Next EDA Meeting. 78
79
Vice President Stigney commented that checks must be signed by the Treasurer and that concerns 80
him. 81
82
Executive Director Ericson said that the Authority does not have to have checks and, if there are 83
no checks, then there is no need to sign them. 84
85
Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 86
