Mounds View EDA January 10, 2000 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />commission for a Business Representative. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Jopke stated Dr. Gregory Belting has indicated an interest in <br />serving on the Economic Development Commission, and the resolution before the Council would <br />appoint Dr Belting to a three-year term, expiring December 31, 2002. <br /> <br />President Coughlin stated it gave him great pleasure to present Dr. Belting’s name for <br />consideration for appointment to the Economic Development Commission. He extended his <br />appreciation to Mr. Khan for his very good work during the past year. He explained that Mr. <br />Khan’s business, Action Press, has moved out of town, and into New Brighton, however, it is <br />still located in the area, therefore, those individuals with printing needs could still take their <br />business to Action Press, which is a wonderful company. He extended his heartfelt thanks to Mr. <br />Khan for coming in to serve on the Economic Development Commission at the end of a term that <br />was previously vacated. He reiterated that Mr. Khan had done a great job, adding that he would <br />also be sending him a letter in that regard. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Thomason/Stigney. To Approve Resolution No. 00-EDA-120, a <br />Resolution Appointing Dr. Gregory Belting to the Economic Development Commission for a <br />Three-year Term, Expiring December 31, 2002. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />B. Consideration of Resolution No. 00-EDA-121, Appointing EDA Vice <br />President and EDC Liaison Appointments <br /> <br />President Coughlin stated this item appoints the Economic Development Authority Vice <br />President and the Economic Development Authority Liaison to the Economic Development <br />Commission, for the year 2000. He indicated he had previously requested he be appointed to the <br />position of Liaison to the Economic Development Commission, and would reiterate this request. <br /> <br />President Coughlin inquired if Vice President Stigney would be agreeable to continue as Vice <br />President of the Authority. <br /> <br />Vice President Stigney agreed. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty./Stigney. To Approve Resolution No. 00-EDA-121, a Resolution <br />Appointing Roger Stigney as Economic Development Authority Vice President and Dan <br />Coughlin as Economic Development Commission Liaison, for the Calendar Year 2000. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />6.
