EDA BUSINESS 1 A. 17-EDA-298, Appointment Members to the Economic Development 2 Commission (EDC) 3 4 Executive Director Ericson requested the EDA adopt a Resolution appointing a member to the 5 Economic Development Commission. He reported the new member would be filling Mr. 6 Dahlstrom’s position. He explained to individuals had applied for the position and the EDC did 7 not have a recommendation at this time. For this reason, staff recommended the EDA table 8 action on this item. 9 10 President Mueller asked if one of the individuals could be appointed to the EDC and the other 11 could serve as an alternate. Executive Director Ericson stated this was not within the EDC’s 12 bylaws or City Code. 13 14 Commissioner Meehlhause explained he attended the last EDC meeting. He indicated two of the 15 EDC members were supportive of one individual and two were supportive of the other. He 16 stated Jason Helgemo was willing to step down from his position in order for the new individuals 17 to be appointed. However, he encouraged Jason not to step down due to the fact he was a 18 business representative. He provided further comment on the discussion the qualifications of the 19 two potential candidates. 20 21 President Mueller questioned if this matter should be tabled until March to allow for further 22 discussion at the EDC level. Executive Director Ericson recommended the matter be tabled until 23 February 27th. 24 25 MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause.
