EDA BUSINESS 7 <br /> 8 <br />A. Resolution 17-EDA-298, Appointing Two Members to the Economic 9 <br />Development Commission (EDC) 10 <br /> 11 <br />Executive Director Ericson requested the Authority appoint two members to the Economic 12 <br />Development Commission (EDC). He explained the EDC was comprised of seven members and 13 <br />currently has two vacant seats. Staff recommended the EDA appoint Theresa Muckala, employed 14 <br />by Medtronic, and Dennis Farmer, employed by the Metropolitan Council. Mr. Farmer would 15 <br />assume the term that expires December 31, 2017 and Ms. Muckala would have a term that expires on 16 <br />December 31, 2019. 17 <br /> 18 <br />President Mueller requested Commissioner Shoop be honored for her service to the City of 19 <br />Mounds View on the EDC. Executive Director Ericson explained the Council would be 20 <br />recognizing Ms. Shoop at an upcoming City Council meeting and a Resolution of Appreciation 21 <br />would be approved by the EDA on February 27th. 22 <br /> 23 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 17-24 <br />EDA-298, Appointing Two Members to the Economic Development Commission (EDC). 25 <br /> 26 <br />Vice President Gunn believed Mr. Farmer and Ms. Muckala would be great additions to the 27 <br />EDC. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Commissioner Meehlhause thanked Commissioner Shoop for stepping aside in order for these 30 <br />two individuals to serve on the EDC. 31 <br /> 32 <br />President Mueller agreed and thanked Commissioner Shoop for her dedicated service to the City 33 <br />of Mounds View on the EDC. 34 <br /> 35 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 36 <br /> 37 <br />8.
