Mounds View EDA October 28, 2013 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br /> <br />President Flaherty agreed that the HKgi RFQ was the most detailed. He stated he was simply 1 <br />trying to justify the extra expense. He commented that staff would support either of the top two 2 <br />candidates. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Vice President Gunn discussed the top two RFQ candidates noting several of the HKgi staff 5 <br />members had worked on the TCAAP plan. She supported either of the top two plans. 6 <br /> 7 <br />President Flaherty recommended the EDA proceed with the Stantec proposal as the City had a 8 <br />great working relationship with this organization. 9 <br /> 10 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Gunn. To Approve the Resolution 13-EDA-282 Accepting the 11 <br />Stantec RFQ for Land Development Planning Services for the Southwest Corner of County 12 <br />Roads 10 and H2. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Commissioner Mueller stated she favored both the Bolton & Menk and Stantec proposals. Her 15 <br />only concern with the Bolton & Menk RFQ was that a portion of the work would be 16 <br />subcontracted out. She was pleased that Stantec would be completing the entire study in-house. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Commissioner Meehlhause respected the recommendation made by staff. He had hoped that the 19 <br />HKgi proposal would be approved this evening, however, he would support the motion. 20 <br /> 21 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 22 <br /> 23 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. To Rename the Southwest Corner of County Roads 10 and 24 <br />H2 to Crossroad Pointe. 25 <br /> 26 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 27 <br /> 28 <br />8. REPORTS 29 <br /> 30 <br />President Flaherty wished Economic Development Specialist Steinmetz well as she would be 31 <br />leaving the City of Mounds View for a position with the City of Big Lake. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Economic Development Specialist Steinmetz thanked the City for the opportunity to work for 34 <br />Mounds View over the past six years. She also thanked the business community for their 35 <br />continued support. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Commissioner Mueller appreciated Economic Development Specialist Steinmetz’s contributions 38 <br />to the City of Mounds View over the past six years, such as the Mounds View Business Council, 39 <br />the Mounds View Matters publication and local business tours. 40 <br /> 41 <br />9.
