RESOLUTION 8116 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />Authorizing the Acceptance of Credit/Debit Cards for Payment of City Charges <br />WHEREAS, the City Council would like to provide additional methods of payment <br />of City charges to residents and customers; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has discussed acceptance of credit cards in the <br />past but did not want to incur any merchant fees ; and <br />WHEREAS, changes in the credit card industry will now allow entities to charge <br />back card fees to customers that use credit cards for payment; and <br />WHEREAS, MuniciPay is a credit card servicer associated with the City's <br />website vendor and will provide the City with the equipment and e-commerce site for <br />acceptance of credit cards at no cost to the City; and <br />WHERAS, the cost to the customer will be $3 or 2.45%, whichever is greater; <br />We <br />WHEREAS, there is no contract period and the City could discontinue the <br />service at anytime. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The City will accept credit/debit cards as a form of payment at no cost to <br />the City. <br />2.
