5-29-2012 EDA Meeting <br />Item 7A – Res. 12-EDA-270, Banners <br />Page 4 of 4 <br />EDA RESOLUTION 12-EDA-270 <br /> <br />MOUNDS VIEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF BANNERS & BRACKET SETS <br />FOR THE LIGHT POLES LOCATED ALONG THE COUNTY ROAD 10 TRAILWAYS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at the April 2, 2012 Work Session, the City Council directed staff to <br />explore the following four ways to improve the appearance of County Road 10, one of <br />which was to install banners on the trailway light poles; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City staff solicited and received two quotes from professional sign <br />companies for quantities of fifty-five banners and fifty-five bracket sets to be installed by <br />the City’s Public Works staff on every other light pole located along the County Road 10 <br />trailways; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the two quotes were based on 24” x 48” size banners to be silk <br />screened on both sides in two colors of ink; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the two quotes do not include the cost of installation and maintenance <br />of the banners and bracket sets; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the two quotes were in the amounts of $6,105.00 and $6,188.00 plus <br />sales tax (a difference of $84), therefore the EDA chose the vendor based on the banner <br />design preferred by the EDA; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the EDA will order the banners and bracket sets from ___________. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mounds View Economic <br />Development Authority does hereby authorize the purchase of banners and bracket sets <br />for the light poles located along the County Road 10 trailways at a price not to exceed <br />$6,215.00 plus sales tax, installation and maintenance costs. <br /> <br />Adopted this 29th day of May, 2012 by the <br />Mounds View Economic Development Authority <br /> <br /> <br />________________________________ <br />Joe Flaherty, President <br /> <br /> <br />(ATTEST) <br />________________________________ <br />James Ericson, Executive Director <br />
