Assistant Clerk-Administrator Crane advised that one applicant is 89
being recommended for appointment to the Planning Commission and the other can be contacted. 90
91
President Flaherty noted the person recommended for reappointment as the resident member 92
already serves on the Planning Commission. Economic Development Specialist Steinmetz stated 93
she had asked whether the other applicant was interested in serving on the Charter Commission 94
and she will follow up with both applicants after tonight’s meeting. President Flaherty stated his 95
preference to have more people engaged in appointments and while he understands the EDC 96
recommendation, he is looking at the larger picture. Economic Development Specialist Steinmetz 97
stated from her observation, this person prefers serving on the EDC over the Planning 98
Commission but would understand the President’s desire to give other applicants a chance. 99
100
AMENDMENT MOTION: Flaherty/. To amend the motion to appoint Andrew Johnson as the 101
EDC resident member. President Flaherty concurred with this suggestion. 105
106
Ayes – 4 Nays – 1 (Flaherty) Motion carried. 107
108
8. REPORTS 109
A.
