9-28-09 EDA Meeting <br />Item 7A – Council Chambers Sign <br />Page 4 of 4 <br /> <br />Design Details <br />If the EDA chooses to proceed with ordering a new sign for the Council Chambers, City <br />staff will work with the EDA’s chosen vendor to finalize the design of the sign (such as the <br />color of the backer plate, the color of the logo). The EDA may also prefer to review <br />additional design mock ups at the next EDA meeting on October l2th. <br /> <br />Comparing the Quotes <br />Fourth Dimension’s quote is $140 more than Spectrum’s quote. Both vendors are <br />proposing to use the same material. The size of Fourth Dimension’s proposed sign is <br />slightly smaller. Fourth Dimension’s price includes a backer plate to cover any existing <br />holes in the cloth panel walls left by the removal of previous sign. If the vendor does not <br />supply a backer plate, there will be an additional cost to the City for replacing or resurfacing <br />the existing wall. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the EDA authorize using $1,400 of its 2009 “Other Professional <br />Services” budget for Fourth Dimension to create and install a new wall sign for the City <br />Council Chambers.
