<br />Item 05B <br />EDA Consent Agenda <br />February 23, 2004 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 04-EDA-181 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />COMMISSION MEMBER AS THE EDC-ELECTED CHAIRPERSON FOR 2004 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Economic Development Commission acts as an advisory <br />commission to the Economic Development Authority on matters that relate to fostering a <br />positive economic climate, encouraging economic development, and enhancing the tax <br />base of the City; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Economic Development Commission is composed of three <br />business representatives and four residents; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 408.07, subdivision 1 of the Mounds View Code, entitled <br />Organization, Meetings provides that Commission shall appoint a chairperson from among its <br />voting members, and that this appointment shall be subject to Authority approval and shall <br />consist of a one year term; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the term for Commissioner _____________ (resident representative), was <br />renewed by the Mounds View EDA on January 12, 2004; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, _____________ has expressed a strong interest in serving as the <br />Economic Development Commission Chairperson; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through a unanimous vote of the Economic Development Commission <br />members on February 20, 2004, _____________ was elected Chair of the EDC. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Economic Development Authority of <br />the City of Mounds View hereby approves the appointment of _____________ as Chairperson <br />to the Economic Development Commission for a one-year term expiring December 31, 2004. <br /> <br />Adopted this 23rd day of February 2004 <br /> <br /> <br /> ______________________________________ <br /> Jerry Linke, EDA President <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> ___________________________________ <br /> Kurt Ulrich, Executive Director <br /> <br />(SEAL)
