As a requirement of <br />the legislation, a public hearing needs to be held by both the EDA and the City Council. This item is <br />scheduled to be discussed at a joint meeting of the EDA/City Council on April 28, 2003. At that time, <br />more detailed information and a copy of the policy will be presented for discussion. In accordance <br />with the legislation, it is necessary for both the City Council and the EDA to adopt a policy. <br />Minnesota Statutes require that there is a public notice for the hearing. Following the EDA meeting <br />on April 14th there was not the ability to place the notice in the Bulletin for that week. A public notice <br />was placed in the April 23rd edition. This necessitates a continuation of the hearing until May 12th. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends continuing the joint public hearing to Monday May 12th, 2003 at 6:35 p.m. for <br />purposes of revising the EDA/City’s “Business Subsidy Policy.” <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />____________________________ <br />Aaron Backman <br />Economic Development Coordinator <br />
