Mounds View EDA May 27, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />Commission have reviewed the plans and both feel that any of the developers would do an 46 <br />excellent job. 47 <br /> 48 <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman reviewed the plans submitted by Dave Regel 49 <br />Construction. 50 <br /> 51 <br />Commissioner Marty arrived at 6:39 p.m. 52 <br /> 53 <br />Vice President Stigney indicated that the road to the north would not need to be built unless the 54 <br />other R-1 properties develop. 55 <br /> 56 <br />Commissioner Marty indicated he knew the property owner at 3032 and offered to discuss the 57 <br />redevelopment plan with him. 58 <br /> 59 <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated he had visited homes built by Mr. Regel 60 <br />and finds them to be an excellently constructed home. He then indicated that Mr. Regel is known 61 <br />and recognized for his accessible homes. 62 <br /> 63 <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman reviewed the plans submitted by Homes by 64 <br />James. He then indicated he had visited homes built by Homes by James and finds them to be an 65 <br />excellently constructed home. 66 <br /> 67 <br />Vice President Stigney asked how the north south road would line up with Spring Lake Road. 68 <br /> 69 <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated the road would line up approximately 70 <br />with Lot 1. 71 <br /> 72 <br />President Linke asked where the pond would be located. 73 <br /> 74 <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated that there were discussions about 75 <br />possibly utilizing Parcel 41 for the pond and adding a second pond in Lot 11. 76 <br /> 77 <br />Commissioner Marty suggested reversing the plan and utilizing cul-de-sacs rather than dead end 78 <br />roads. 79 <br /> 80 <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated that the developers were told that cul-81 <br />de-sacs would be required built to City standards. 82 <br /> 83 <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman reviewed the plans submitted by Procraft Homes. 84 <br /> He then indicated that Procraft Homes took the initiative to contact Mr. Vik concerning selling 85 <br />all or a portion of his property and he has expressed an interest in doing so. 86 <br /> 87
