Mounds View EDA September 9, 2002 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />the second part of the Resolution deals with the recommendation to have separate debt service <br />funds. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Thomas/Stigney. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 02- <br />EDA-165, a Resolution Amending the 2001 Budget of the EDA Fund and the TIF District Funds <br />for Projects Authorized During 2001 and for Transfers to the Debt Service Funds. <br /> <br /> <br />Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />7. REPORTS <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman updated the EDA on various projects. He then <br />said the most significant is that a seven-year lease was signed on Building I for a company that <br />will use 120,000 feet of space and employ 200 people. <br /> <br />Commissioner Quick arrived at 7:03 p.m. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated the Planning Commission reviewed and <br />recommended approval of a request for a project where the old Perkins is located. He then said <br />the building would be demolished and a new 22,000 square foot building would be built. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated there is a continuing discussion with the <br />franchise owner regarding Culvers and they are interested in a location along Highway 10. He <br />then said that would be a good addition to the community. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated he had some discussions with another <br />business looking at the old Amoco site but would not elaborate on the discussions. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman indicated that Blooming Prairie Natural Foods <br />would be holding an open house on either the 4th or 11th of October and Council will be invited. <br /> <br />8. NEXT EDA MEETING: Not Yet Scheduled. <br /> <br />9.
