Consider Approval of Resolution 01-EDA-150, a Resolution Approving and
Authorizing the Expenditure of Tax Increment Funds for the Purchase of
Blighted and Hazardous Property Located at 2091 Hillview Road.

Community Development Director Ericson indicated that the property located at 2091 Hillview
Road has been an issue for the City for a number of years. He then indicated that a previous
Council had authorized the house as a hazardous building and recommended the building be
razed. He then indicated that the property owners defaulted and the property was take over by
HUD who attempted to sell the property. He further indicated that a previous Council had
authorized that the City purchase the property from HUD and that he had attempted to do so but,
due to unknown circumstances, none of the purchase agreements submitted to HUD were
received by them.

Community Development Director Ericson noted the property is for sale again and that he had
contacted HUD and was told that if the City were to submit another purchase agreement it would
not be lost.
