• Staff Memo <br /> To: Economic Development Commission Members <br /> From: Cathy Bennett, Economic Development Coordinator <br /> Date: July 18, 1996 <br /> Subject: Preliminary Discussion of Everest Request for TIF (5.B) <br /> Assistance <br /> I have attached documents regarding the negotiations and proposals for TIF assistance by <br /> Everest Development that was prepared for the EDA work session on July 8, 1996. The <br /> staff report gives a chronological account of the negotiations over the past several <br /> months and a brief history working with Everest in the proposed development of a new <br /> 103,000 s.f. warehouse/office facility. Everest is expected to be in attendance to answer <br /> questions regarding the project. <br /> • Since this is the first proposal the EDC has reviewed, it may be in the EDC's best interest <br /> to briefly discuss the proposal, address questions and not take action until the August <br /> meeting. This will give members a chance to think about the project based on the <br /> information that was provided through the special presentation. In addition, I would <br /> need to defer any questions I can not answer to our Bond Attorney and Fiscal Agent who <br /> are not expected to be in attendance at this meeting. Also you may want to have Everest <br /> complete the Application for Assistance so that staff can prepare the Analysis under the <br /> proposed Tax Increment Policy.
