3. Similar to the actions of neighboring communities that enjoy
Ramsey County recreational facilities, take full advantage of the
recreational facilities that Ramsey County offers, incorporating the
opportunities in recreational performas for the community and enhancing
recreational opportunities for residents of the community.
4. The road improvements to Old Highway 8 will enhance the safety
and access to the entrance of Mounds View. An off-street trailway will
provide for multi-model transportation and will link to New Brighton off-
street trailways, leading to Long Lake Regional Park and also leading to
downtown New Brighton.
BENEFITS:
The benefits of a Regional Recreation Facility is that it is an attraction opportunity for the
City. Visitor spending will generate economic stimulus. The facility will identify the City
as the location of a regional park which will be enjoyed by many people from the
Metropolitan area. The Regional Recreation Facility will preserve the wetlands and
riverway while providing opportunity for people to use and enjoy the natural resources of
the Rice Creek Trail Corridor.
6. MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL
DESCRIPTION: •
This small section of the Highway 10 corridor is residential and is recommended as
remaining residential. These homes do not face Highway 10 but instead have side
properties adjacent to the Highway corridor. These properties do not have direct access
to Highway 10.
GOAL:
The goal of this section of the corridor is simply to comply with already existing home
properties that are located at the end of the residential block of St. Stephens Street.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective is simply to avoid disrupting three homes that currently fall in this area. The
homes do not have a significant affect to the Highway corridor. The homes are on the end
of a very nice neighborhood residential street.
BENEFIT:
The benefit to keeping the homes as existing is that they complete a nice neighborhood.
The neighborhood is in excellent location to City Hall and City Center services. 1111
