According to Minn. Stat. 205.16, subd. 4, a written notice <br />of the approved ballot question must be to the county auditor 53 days before the date of <br />the upcoming election. Staff would need an approved ballot question from the City <br />Attorney and the City Council before December 10, 2004. The approved written ballot <br />must be on the County Auditor’s desk by close of business on December 10, 2004. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that if the Council chooses to put a question on the ballot, then Staff <br />and Council must act quickly. After today (November 22nd), we have 18 days to come <br />up with an approved ballot question.
