Mounds View City Council January 13, 2003 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Marty asked whether the remaining warranty was for five years. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Mr. Bradley explained that there is a remaining five-year warranty on the main component box. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Mayor Linke asked if the box would be moved. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Mr. Bradley indicated that the box would be moved to the banquet room. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Marty asked whether the repairs were covered under warranty. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Mr. Bradley explained that two microphones had shorted out and were not under warranty. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Marty indicated he was concerned with only one bid and asked if a formal RFP 14 <br />should be sent out since there is only one contractor in the metro area that services this 15 <br />equipment. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Mr. Bradley indicated it is the same company that controls the fire and alarm system at the 18 <br />Community Center. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Council Member Quick asked whether obtaining another contractor through the RFP process 21 <br />would void the existing warranty. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Mr. Bradley indicated that it would. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Council Member Marty indicated he liked the fact that the banquet center will be charging for 26 <br />use of the equipment. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Stigney asked what is in the main box. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Mr. Bradley indicated there four receivers but if one is used it is heard throughout the banquet 31 <br />center. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if there was a power amp. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Mr. Bradley indicated there were two one for the cassette and one for the am/fm receiver and 36 <br />amplifier. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Council Member Stigney indicated the new system proposes a mixer amplifier with a CD and 39 <br />cassette player but you cannot split if it is all in the same rack. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Mr. Bradley explained that there would be additional equipment added to the banquet center run 42 <br />through the existing equipment that would allow for the sound to be split three ways. 43 <br /> 44
