Mounds View City Council January 13, 2003 Regular Meeting Page 5 1 Council Member Marty asked whether the remaining warranty was for five years. 2 3 Mr. Bradley explained that there is a remaining five-year warranty on the main component box. 4 5 Mayor Linke asked if the box would be moved. 6 7 Mr. Bradley indicated that the box would be moved to the banquet room. 8 9 Council Member Marty asked whether the repairs were covered under warranty. 10 11 Mr. Bradley explained that two microphones had shorted out and were not under warranty. 12 13 Council Member Marty indicated he was concerned with only one bid and asked if a formal RFP 14 should be sent out since there is only one contractor in the metro area that services this 15 equipment. 16 17 Mr. Bradley indicated it is the same company that controls the fire and alarm system at the 18 Community Center. 19 20 Council Member Quick asked whether obtaining another contractor through the RFP process 21 would void the existing warranty. 22 23 Mr. Bradley indicated that it would. 24 25 Council Member Marty indicated he liked the fact that the banquet center will be charging for 26 use of the equipment. 27 28 Council Member Stigney asked what is in the main box. 29 30 Mr. Bradley indicated there four receivers but if one is used it is heard throughout the banquet 31 center. 32 33 Council Member Stigney asked if there was a power amp. 34 35 Mr. Bradley indicated there were two one for the cassette and one for the am/fm receiver and 36 amplifier. 37 38 Council Member Stigney indicated the new system proposes a mixer amplifier with a CD and 39 cassette player but you cannot split if it is all in the same rack. 40 41 Mr. Bradley explained that there would be additional equipment added to the banquet center run 42 through the existing equipment that would allow for the sound to be split three ways. 43 44
